The photo shows a high-strength workbench made by combining an 18mm thick birch plywood core with a Spacia pipe, covered with a conductive mat. The rigidity of a single sheet of birch plywood is quite significant. Since it is not hollow inside, the Mantis microscope was securely fixed in place.
